If you love nature and enjoy getting away from city life, then Cranes Crest is the ideal place to stay. Rolling hills and valleys in the foothills of the Outeniqua Mountains surround the guest farm, which is a birdwatcher's paradise.
There are a number of walking, hiking and mountain biking routes on the farm and in the surrounding area. The walking trails range from easy to moderately strenuous, with the Kouma River trail leading to Bushman paintings and an indigenous forest that houses spectacular waterfalls and sparkling, fresh water rock pools.

Property AmenitiesThe Kraal
Two to four people can relax in our secluded and environmentally friendly two-bedroom cottage located in a hand-built stone enclosure or "kraal". The kraal was erected in the late 1800s by farmers who protected their cattle at night from leopards hunting for prey.
The main bedroom has a queen-size bed while the second bedroom has a sturdy bunk bed. There are separate toilet and shower rooms, and the open-plan kitchen and lounge are situated on the enclosed wooden deck. The cottage is fully equipped and comfortably furnished and is fitted with a gas hot water system, cooker and fridge.
It has its own private patio and barbecue (braai) facility, and has a view of the spectacular vistas of the Outeniqua Mountains.
The Lodge
Larger groups can unwind in the private, five-bedroom Lodge. It is suitable for a group of five or more people. Three of the spacious rooms are each furnished with two single beds that can be rearranged to suit the needs of our guests. The fourth bedroom has two bunk beds in it, while the fifth room has a single bed.
The private patio with its own barbecue (braai) facility leads into the open plan kitchen and lounge. The cast-iron cookware is ideal for cooking outdoors or on the gas cooker in the kitchen. There are two fridges in the kitchen, which is supplied with a gas hot water system, ensuring hot water at the turn of a tap. There are two bathrooms, each with a toilet, shower and basin.
Camping
Cranes Crest welcomes campers with their own tents, and there are many shady spots to choose from.

Area AttractionsGuests can relax in the swimming pool while enjoying a sundowner and the magnificent views of the sea, mountains and valleys. There is a lapa and braai patio next to the swimming pool and a toilet and shower close by.
Cranes Crest offers a variety of games, including paintball, board games, darts at the lapa, volley ball, soccer, boule (French bowls), feather ball and cricket.
