Hiking Trails
Forever Resorts Blyde Canyon offers some of the most spectacular hiking trails in Mpumalanga. For your own safety it is essential that you complete the trail register at reception to ensure that the Resort staff can be aware of movements on the trails. Please fill out the register before you leave and notify reception once you have returned back from your hike. It is also essential that you take along sufficient liquids to drink, as some sections of the trails could be quite tiring. Please take care to only leave your footprints behind as you are walking in a pristine Nature Reserve.

Kadisi - Tufa Trail
This trail takes around 1 hour to complete and is fairly easy. It runs along the Kadisi River, which is a tributary of the Blyde River. It incorporates a lovely Tufa waterfall which is a rare phenomenon involving the building up of rock behind the waterfall as opposed to the eroding away of the rock. As a result of the high calcium content of the water and the resultant calcium carbonate precipitation.

Leopard Trail
This trail takes 4 hours to complete and requires a reasonable level of fitness. It offers spectacular views of the Blyde River, Blyde Dam, Three Rondavels, Mariepskop and the other features of the Blyde Canyon. A variety of biomes with their specific vegetation types are encountered on this trail. Although leopards are seldom actually encountered on the trail due to their shy and nocturnal habits, their spoor is often seen.

Guinea - Fowl Trail
This trail takes 3 hours to complete and requires a reasonable level of fitness. This scenically diverse trail offers lovely views of the Canyon?s features before descending into the lush vegetation of the Kadisi River Valley. A lovely swimming spot and a small Tufa waterfall are encountered at the point where the Trail crosses the Kadisi River.

Lourie Trail
This trail takes 2 hours to complete. Agility as well as fitness is required for this trail. At the moment this trail is not open to the public and may only be done as a guided hike. Lush riparian vegetation and water features dominate this beautiful trail.

5 Hour Link Route
By linking the Leopard, Guinea-fowls and Kadisi-Tufa trails, an invigorating
5-hour hike is achieved. This trail is only recommended for fit people specifically interested in hiking.
